Q: What does it costA: $25 to register.
Q: What if I have no shot at winning?A: Do it anyway … when will you have a chance again to perform in front of a collection of the top bookers in Comedy? Make your mark; let them know who you are! In addition the judges will be picking, strictly from the submitted videos, three comics to be tagged as Florida's newest rising stars and will recieve private emcee training from the Improv along with one night's paid emcee spot.
Q: How do I sign up?A: Click the Registration Tab
Q: Can I choose any city to compete in?A: No, please make sure you choose the city closest to you. If there is a crazy extenuating circumstance such as a dead hooker you can plead your case by contacting us via the contact page.
Q: I don’t know how to upload my set?A: Ask your 10 year old niece or nephew and if that doesn’t work request technical assistance from the Contact Page.
Q: Do I have to bring guests as if it were an open mic night?A: No, we will be marketing the show extensively but the more friends you bring, the louder the applause ... Judges like applause.
Q: Can the video I submit be more than 5 minutes?A: Anything over six and you risk giving the judges a rash ... A quick hint or strong suggestion; Submit your best 5 minutes. The judges can only choose 15 comics for each city so make sure you stand out.
Q: How many comics are chosen?A: 15 per city.
Q: Is my submission fee refunded if I'm not chosen?A: No, but you are automatically entered into the Florida's Next Rising Star part of the contest.- Prizes
1st PlaceGets you an 8 week club tour and 4 more weeks. That's 3 months of work! One Guest Spot in NYC plus a second Guest Spot in LA.
2nd PlaceGets you a one week engagement at the club of your choice.
3rd PlaceA cool ribbon made of Lycra.
College PrizeRene' Harte will choose a select few to submit for showcasing to NACA, all expenses paid if chosen. The top comedians will have a final showcase that will be professional videotaped and then submitted for review. If any are chosen to showcase all expenses will be paid…. Good Luck to all!!!
Rising StarThe judges will be choosing, strictly from the video submissions, three comics to be named Florida's Funniest's Next Rising Stars. Each winner will receive private emcee training from the Improv as well as one paid emcee spot. Submit your best 5 minutes.
